Thinking Less About "Who to Stay Away From"#

Why?

Thoughts determine actions, actions determine results.

Being close to certain people may influence us to adopt their strengths.

Attention is limited. By focusing on who to avoid, we mainly see flaws and only aim to steer clear. This reduces the energy spent on thinking about who to be with, shifting our focus to virtues and strengths. By immersing ourselves in these qualities, we learn and grow.

Why not direct all our thoughts towards what benefits us the most and helps us grow the fastest?

For me now, learning virtues is better than avoiding flaws. Focusing less on "who to stay away from" is beneficial for my current self-development. I used to overthink my faults, always focusing on what made me unhappy. My conclusion is: I misplaced my attention.

I believe that when a person reaches a stage where they can handle life's unpleasant moments and control their attention, then thinking about "who to stay away from" becomes a valid question. At this point, their focus shifts from unhappiness to how to progress in life—when walking with two others, there must be one I can learn from, follow the good, and correct the bad.

Growth happens step by step. Understand where you stand and make the most of your present life!
